What StudyCube stores in your browser, why it is there, and what we deliberately don't do.

1. What we store in your browser
StudyCube uses first-party browser storage (localStorage) rather than traditional cookies for almost everything. This includes your authentication tokens — a short-lived access token and a 7-day refresh token that keep you signed in between visits — and UI preferences such as your light/dark theme choice.
2. Strictly necessary storage
The authentication tokens are strictly necessary: without them you would be signed out on every page load. They are created only after you sign in, are removed when you sign out, and are rotated when you change your password or sign in from another device.
3. Preference storage
Theme selection and similar interface preferences are stored so the site remembers how you like it to look. Clearing them has no effect beyond resetting the interface to its defaults.
4. Third-party services
Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout and live sessions run on the 100ms video platform. When you use those features, Stripe and 100ms may set their own cookies on their domains under their respective privacy policies. StudyCube pages themselves do not embed third-party advertising or analytics tags.
5. What we don’t do
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or advertising-network tags on any StudyCube page, and we do not sell browsing data to anyone.
6. Managing storage
You can clear StudyCube’s browser storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so signs you out and resets interface preferences; your account data on our servers is unaffected.
